Take note that you are trying to attempt an international call, the rates could be higher than the local calls so you may want to talk to your phone or network provider regarding the rates/plans after reading this article.
First you have to know that there are certain standard codes in order to call other countries.
- Country Code – the code in your country. In the Philippines it’s 63.
- Exit Code – the exit code is used if you are calling outside your country.

How to Call a mobile phone in the Philippines from United States
- Dial 011 – United States exit code.
- Dial 63 – Philippines country code.
- Dial the mobile phone number – that’s composed of 10 digits (3 for service provider plus 7 for local number) that always starts with number 9.
- This is how it looks like: 011 63 9xx xxx xxxx
How to Call a landline in the Philippines from United States
- Dial 011 – United States exit code.
- Dial 63 – Philippines country code.
- Dial the area/city code – 2 for Manila, 32 for Cebu, 82 for Davao, so this means you have to know the location that person in the Philippines. Here is the list of area codes in the Philippines.
- Dial the landline number – normally that’s composed of between 5 to 9 digits.
- Sample in calling a landline in Manila, Philippines from United States: 011 63 2 xxx xxxx
Take note that if someone in the Philippines have given his/her mobile phone number that starts with 0, don’t include 0. The standard mobile number in the Philippines is +63 prefix then followed by 10 digit number. Example: +639123456789
But we can just replace the +63 with 0 when calling local numbers. Example, we can use 09123456789 instead of +639123456789. But in international call, it won’t work. So if someone have given you his/her mobile number that starts with 0, forget 0 and follow the instructions above.
